The 2 chicks were ringed on 4 July and assessed as female. They were given ring numbers JJ0 and JJ2, and later named by popular vote as Mallie and Rannoch. Both weighed 1.49kg on ringing but will weigh a lot more now after a further month's-worth of protein-packed-piscine-parenting. The WT subsequently said they thought Mallie may be male. S/he fledged on 20 July and Rannoch on 27 July.

14.58 Louis brings a fish to a very noisy Rannoch. She landed, calling and mantling ready to receive it. Louis landed and she grabbed the fish in her beak. Louis flew off
She began calling and walking across the nest
15.05 still here, holding on to her fish, looking around, with period of calling and quiet.
15.07 she has flown with the fish and the sun has come out.

15.24 Good heavens, I think it was Rannoch who returned calling to the nest, with a piece of left over fish, when Louis (I think) landed with another small fish. Louis left, and Rannoch flew off with the new fish!

When I scrolled back I came across this rainbow at about 15.15
Rannoch landed, holding her previous fish in her talons
Followed by Louis with his second small fish in a short space of time
He flew off, followed by Rannoch
Evening, All. Thanks for pics and posts.
Rannoch just left.
Kind regards, Ann
