Continued from April 2019
The season so far:
Maya arrived back 14 March and Blue 33(11) on 23 March. They are currently incubating 4 eggs laid 2, 5, 8 and 11 April with the first expected to hatch around 9 May

Maya has now picked up the older of the two fish and starts to feed. #3 gets a piece then one of the eldest chicks moves in and Maya stops feeding and moves away from the fish. How strange for it has been over an hour since the last feed and the chicks are hungry. Plus #4 needs to get something. It is not just fish but it is warm and they need fluids too.

They mention that there was a little concern that #4 isn't getting as much attention but for the moment it is still holding its head up and getting fed.
Maya gave a couple of calls. The chicks are lined up and fish begging - they want fed!

Once more Maya calls as if beckoning 33 in with a fish!
I am now wondering if, despite it being brought in this morning, there could be something wrong with the fish on the nest?? Also I hope she is not poorly!
It must be off Jane for it has been over 2 hours since the last feed and she knows the chicks are hungry plus what fish she did dish out was not enough to go round. At the last sitting, I did actually see #4 with the fish tail which it spat out and one of the elder chicks then ate for that was all Maya had to offer. She did try that other fish but then left it. But she is definitely fish calling.
Edit: After all this Maya has gone back to the older fish !!!! Ospreys LOL
Maya now feeding from the older fish on the nest. Eldest chicks being fed but Maya still seems reluctant?
