MANTON BAY – MAY 2019

I am not sure when Sandra finished her shift last night but what a wonderful time for her to be volunteering :)

Feed over and Maya has now settled back down on the chicks / eggs.

I am really pleased to see #1 and #2 hatch so close together as with #1 being a little later, this will help the younger chicks with the age/size difference

This was the early-morning feed with 2 takers ;)  (Not edited.)

33 has left this stick looking a bit threatening :o

Maya does it again, hatching 2 chicks together although eggs laid 3 days apart. What an osprey. Fantastic news and the weather has improved too

Yes she is Alan and what a difference this lovely weather is making for it is so nice to see Maya having a little comfort break and the chicks/eggs getting some air.

And it is great for us for we can see :-)

Threat quickly passes and 33 calmly stands at the side of the nest. 

He has now flown as must I.  BBL

33 landed with another fish which Maya takes, gets herself balanced and eats

two heads are up looking for fish

Love the way she teaches the chicks independence from day 1 :-)

33 now in as Maya covers the chicks.   He looks so proud

I bet 33 is now missing his little sit down ...   

I always feel a little sorry for him when they hatch for he so loved his turn incubating

Another feed.  Little and Often - Maya knows how to keep them happy :-)
