Daily Update (LG Nest ) Wednesday 21st July

Hi everyone,  It was quite a day yesterday.   Titch showing off his flying skills, landings not so good

Didn't see much as was out for most of the morning.  Afternoon had its moments, with fish deliveries, intruder alerts, and flying practice In all a typical osprey family day again.

What will tomorrow bring!!!!       Titch is home alone, EJ , after a late night snack with junior, flew off about 11pm to roost. The other two are probably nearbye but Junior still prefers the safety of the nest.

Happy viewing night shift and we do value all your contributions as it keeps us informed of whats gone on or not as the case may be overnight. Hope I'm not being pompous about that.

Take care all.  Night, night.

  • One legged Titch (if it is he) keeps looking over his shoulder. He hasn't got the sense to go and find a drier perch. He does look so sorry for himself. His head is drooping.

  • Time for me to log off. Thank you for reports, pics & videos - I don't miss a thing (except live action)!

  • Bye AQ -    sleep well. Well, what a sorry sight. Little one so bedraggled. Hope the rain stops soon . Am watching RtheB's video and then need to go get my hair cut so I'll catch up with you all later. ( I do hope you'll have company whilst OH is away Annette - a month is a long time - or maybe you are going to trip the light fantastic in the interim   :)       )

EDIT   Good morning Diane  :)    (trust the owl is fine  ) and RtheB .Hello Gary. Faithful Lynette starting a new day.  What a morning in LG!

  • Came on to a very bedraggled Titch (? think it is he?)

  • Good Morning All and once again, thanks for all earlier reports. Poor Titch does look sorry for himself this morning. I guess he doesn't feel confident enough to spend the night away from the nest, but he does leave himself open to all the wind and rain. Good to hear they have all had an early breakfast.

  • Just read back over today's posts so far:  many thanks to you all, as usual. At least they are well fed, even if they are rather damp.

  • Morning all and thanks for all the reports. Weather forecast is not good for Scotland today so I expect we will see more drookit ospreys. Here in Hunts. it is sunny and a bit fresher than yesterday. I am off to Rutland Water shortly to check out the fledging situation at Manton Bay. Will report back later.

Oh please do Alan. Can't keep track of all these nests at times.

Morning all, and what a wet morning it is up there with a bedraggled Ttich on the nest. Lindybird you beat me to it with the pic.

Thanks to all the night staff for their posts.

  • Morning all ... thanks for overnight posts and pics. Oh dear ... what a soggy sight .... poor Titch ... but at least he's been fed!

[/quote]   Hi Alan, see you come from Hunts which is not too far from where I reside in Northants. Rutland Water isn't all that far from here but unfortunately OH isn't a birdwatcher (whether live or through webcams) so its difficult to get up there. Lovely and sunny here too.  I digress.

Nothing much has changed, I heard a shouting from the kitchen and can only assume Titch was wingercising. again.
