Hi everyone, It was quite a day yesterday. Titch showing off his flying skills, landings not so good
Didn't see much as was out for most of the morning. Afternoon had its moments, with fish deliveries, intruder alerts, and flying practice In all a typical osprey family day again.
What will tomorrow bring!!!! Titch is home alone, EJ , after a late night snack with junior, flew off about 11pm to roost. The other two are probably nearbye but Junior still prefers the safety of the nest.
Happy viewing night shift and we do value all your contributions as it keeps us informed of whats gone on or not as the case may be overnight. Hope I'm not being pompous about that.
Take care all. Night, night.

One stoled the fish from the other but I can tell who is the winner or loser
Now EJ just came with a whale . So the loser will eat . There are only 2 chicks on the nest. And I hear either Odin or the eldest's high pitched screech
EJ is ignoring it all and feeding the chick who lost it's fish . I think the one EJ is feeding is #2
But it is really anyones' guess which one it is :)
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Annette: yes I saw that, and heard the calls before and after. There was one calling close by (probably No.1, on the branch below the nest) and No.2 further off.
Here's a clip of this:

Well that settles who is who !!
Titch just arrived and made one of his famous landings. Right on #2's back !! A huge flapping of wings and all are back on their feet and fine.
The Eldest has the original fish.
EJ was feeding #2 and now Titch has joined in .
EJ on the nest with all three juveniles. She's feeding two from a large fish. The other chick is feeding itself from another fish. I've been close to nature my entire life, and I'm not overly sentimental, but I so hate to see an osprey tearing up a fish while it's still alive and flopping around. Oh, my stars, that's gruesome! This wasn't just a nerve spasm; that fish was alive. Eeew.
3 GEMs on nest. EJ feeding one (don't ask me which). Oh now she's feeding another. One is lurking close to camera on left. All look soggy.
Diane - Cold has left me lethargic and I was thinking of "chish & fips" for tea after day in city (met Wattle). But not so sure now LOL. I want my fish well done!!! Love the little chattery noises the osps make when eating.
LOL LOL Sorry, AQ!
Titch considered having a go at the Eldest, because it wouldn't give up the remainder of the fish -- even though it was finished with it. But Titch wisely backed down, and they retreated to their perches to glare menacingly at one another.
Hollow-legs is being fed again!! Then wanders off for a flap.
After flossing, EJ replaces perch there. And a smaller branch over here. Then departs leaving Titch (?) alone on nest.
