I thought I'd start a new thread ready for this years relocation, which is year 3. Along with news of any sightings of the Translocated Ospreys from the first 2 years of the project
Carried on from last years thread HERE

Thanks Valerie. The podcast at the foot of the page is really worth listening to - Roy Dennis talking all things osprey from his childhood, to George Waterston asking that he consider working at LG, and of course the translocation project to Poole Harbour. Clearly the weather has been a problem this year. One interesting snippet - he said there were 10 pairs around Rutland, 30+ pairs in England.
They were ringing Blue 015(19) a male! 1360g weight, 360mm wing.
And thanks, also for the Raptor Persecution UK link, from which there was a comment and a response:
Don’t wish to be negative, but I thought I read that the project had a serious problem last season with birds succumbing to illness. Am I correct and are they on top of this now?
[Ed: You’re right, Alan, they had a serious problem last season, thought to have been exacerbated by the heat wave. As a result the project has overhauled every single procedure this year, including moving sites, and this year’s birds looked in superb condition when I saw them a couple of weeks ago]

Alison - I've seen a few references to Beaky. I think she is a 'she', and assume she is unringed. Is she new this year, or was she 'mingling' last year too?
