Yesterday was the DAY we have all been waiting for. EJ welcomed a strapping young male in the early morning hours (scylla's video), and they set about establishing practices of nookie, fish delivery, nestcupping, and stickifying. Especially endearing is this male's habit of posing for the camera, a trait we had come to identify with dear Odin. This may be the auspicious sign that he will prevail for EJ and for the nest. Here is the MAN OF THE HOUR as captured by Moffer and by Clare, respectively.Head shots for ID thoughtfully provided by BNN here.RSPB Facebook also reported in about EJ's new beau.

Arnold? As in Schwarzenegger?
Reflecting his physique and attitude, Clare :)
IMAGICAT
He just landed and flew off, but I posted it in Arkaig :-/
(I can't find that mispost, if anyone sees it, please tell me where it is.)
Landing:
Didn't look our way at all :(
Osprey on the nest just now... and gone again!
"INTRODUCING EJ AND ARNIE!!!! OUR NEW CELEBRITY SCOTTISH BIRD COUPLE!!!!" Quite a nice ring (no pun intended) to it, I think! Actually I don't care what the new Mr Anon gets called, as long as this fledgling (sorry) partnership stays the course. Fingers well and truly crossed.
Morning All - thanks for all the updates.
Hopefully we will see more of EJ and her new male on the nest today. I'm out for the day so hopefully lots of good news later :-)
He's back and very alert
So nice of him to drop in just as I was about to leave. :-))
He's back had a flap.
There's life!
He's off:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Stickified a bit.
Nestcupped.
I wonder why he's so late?
Flown!
