Yesterday was the DAY we have all been waiting for. EJ welcomed a strapping young male in the early morning hours (scylla's video), and they set about establishing practices of nookie, fish delivery, nestcupping, and stickifying. Especially endearing is this male's habit of posing for the camera, a trait we had come to identify with dear Odin. This may be the auspicious sign that he will prevail for EJ and for the nest. Here is the MAN OF THE HOUR as captured by Moffer and by Clare, respectively.Head shots for ID thoughtfully provided by BNN here.RSPB Facebook also reported in about EJ's new beau.
Dark and sounding slightly drippy on the nest at present.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild_______________________________________The Daily Update thread is for recording nest events only—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Thank you!

Good Morning Scylla and all who follow
Thank you CC for your summary report in the start off
I am a bit late for the early shift SCYLLA but that will be remedied tomorrow morning once I am home :-)
Its an empty nest at the moment sadly.
I hope EJ and Arnold come to the nest plenty of times today so everyone can have a good webcam watching day.
Will check in later to catch up on all the action.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Good Morning Moffer and Mike too
Your posts weren’t there when I started mine, see I told you I was slow :-)
Cheerio the noo, I am getting hurried along here :-)
Good Morning SCYLLA MIKE and MOFFER
I wasn't able to log in later in the day yesterday but I did keep thinking about dear EJ and her beau I am presuming he still stuck around?
Only just realised that this is the first time since using my new laptop that I haven't had to sign in Sigh of relief!
Good morning, all. Let's hope we see them soon!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Good morning and good day, MARY - I missed you because I've been trying to check thru yesterday late afternoon/evening for last sightings, not finished yet, it's a much slower job than it used to be.

Maybe someone will arrive if I go for another coffee :)

Nest still empty. Ian
