Last night in Arizona; heading home tomorrow with stopover in Palm Desert. Will catch up then!
Hi folks, back from our holiday in Germany. Weather humid and warm with cloud and sunshine, only really saw rain on last day in Cologne. Hope all is well with you. May get chance to look back and read all the news. Just one or two pics,.
Cologne Cathedral
The Glockenspiel clock which acts out the Pied Piper story - Hamelin.
one of the oldest buildings in Hamelin
Goosegirl statue in Gottingen - the graduates are wheeled in a wooden cart to her and they have to kiss her cheek. Gottingen is a University town where the Brothers Grimm were Professors.
Mohn Dam which was breached in the 2nd WW .

Evening all: Well, it was an insurance company's website that had me pulling my hair out this morning. Grrr.
Heather: What a smart granddaughter! :-)))
Lindybird: What drives me up the wall are people who stand in line in the check out line at the grocery and let the checker scan all the items and give them the total before they sort of wake up and start searching for their wallet! Aaack! Lovely shot of the sparrowhawk - but oh dear, are those someone else's feathers on the grass? That's one bright plant.
OG: Too bad you're too helpful to say "no" to all that extra work. :-(
Lynette: Welcome back! Cologne Cathedral is spectacular and Mohn Dam looks so peaceful - now...
Harelady: Hope you're doing okay and still finding support when you need it.
Another busy paperwork-filled day tomorrow - oh joy!
Take care all.
Good Morning. Sun outside my window this morning. We went to sleep last night to the sound of the harvester, as the farmer worked on into the night to get in the fields of wheat behind our house.
Lynette - Glad you enjoyed your trip to Germany. Like your photos, especially the Hamelin one with the bells.
Annette -- We did the same recently, then ended up having to phone the insurance company to sort it out. :-(
Today's pic:
Hi to all from Sunny Suffolk. I have had visitors since last Monday. First my Daughter with her 2 Daughters, Seraphina and Luna. That was followed by a weekend trip to Surrey to meet up with my late Daughters work colleagues for a meal and for them to present us with a memory book they had made about Katie, which was beautiful and something I will cherish and read often. Then back to Suffolk for Monday when my Sister and her husband. They live in France so we meet up whenever they are over. The weather was very good and we managed to get out and about. I only hope that I have my sisters stamina when I am her age. She is 73 which is 11 years older than me and can keep going all day and then likes to sit up to the small hours chatting. She is an owl and I am a lark and like to be in bed before 11. I need to be off now as I have a Reflexology session. Have only just started them and it is very relaxing and I hope it is doing me some good and hopefully lower my blood pressure which was very high a few weeks ago, something that has never happened before so the doctor is keeping an eye on it.
Have a good day all.
Lovely to hear from you, Harelady.
What beautiful names your granddaughters have. Nice for you to have a visit from your sister, but yes, my brother is a nightowl and can stay up until all hours, whereas I get weary. The reflexology sounds like a great idea. I believe its very good. Its not unusual to have health problems after a close family bereavement, so you will need to keep an eye on yourself: but I see that your family are all very close which must be a comfort. Take Care of yourself!
I came on to post these pics: I thought you might like to see a dog which my sis-in-law has just been taking care of, her name is Princess -- isn't that gorgeous!
She has a lovely gentle nature, and played with Bonnie for ages.
Morning all: Quick look in.
Harelady: Sounds like a busy but good time and yes, lovely names. Both unusual - sound Italian? What a nice gesture from your daughter's colleaques; she must've made a lovely impression.
Lindybird: Now Princess looks like a dog I could live with - how old is she? Over the puppy phase obviously!
Off to look at my To Do list.....
What a beautiful dog - she looks so gentle. No Italian in family that I am are aware of - my Dad was Irish and Mum a Londoner. Her Mother, was not happy with her wanting to marry an Irishman but came to love him and asked for him to sit with her when she was dying. They got married on Christmas Eve 1939 as he was going to volunteer, but he got turned down due to ill health. He wanted to join the Fleet Air Arm. My Daughter loved the Philip Pullman books - His Dark Materials and I think that is where she got Seraphina's name from and they both just Liked Luna. My Grandson is more traditional - James Peter. They are a huge blessing particularly at this sad time and getting photos of them almost daily really help us all.
LYNETTE - glad you enjoyed the trip and were mostly lucky with the weather; lovely pictures of some fascinating buildings.
ANNETTE - I see you are still busy - do you ever stop?
HARELADY - you too have been busy with family members. What a lovely gesture by your late daughter's work colleagues! I do hope you can get your blood pressure under control. Good that you are getting frequent photos of the Grandchildren - they change almost daily in the first few months. I had a surprise letter from Grandson#2 (26) today - it does warm the heart to hear from them.
LINDA - what a beautiful dog Princess is -and looks so placid.
We had our day out to Loch Arthur for some organic shopping and lunch - and Homity Pie was on the menu. We were then very naughty and had waffles to follow with honey and whipped cream cheese - I had the "wee waffle" and OH had the "muckle waffle", and finished up my toppings! Nice sunny day too, some mizzle crossing Mouswald Topping, and a shower going up through the forest on the way there, but warm and dry after that.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
