Last night in Arizona; heading home tomorrow with stopover in Palm Desert. Will catch up then!
Lucky for you, LINDY! I think I've said this before, on here but it isn't the dawdling tourists that bother me, not at all. It is the local folk who treat M and S food hall as a place to stand and chat and when overhearing them it often seems as if it is all about telling how clever their grandchildren are :-))))
HEATHER Well done to Amy, def something to boast about.
Think we may have found an answer to Bensons reluctance to take a walk locally. Take a squeaky toy with you. It is so strange. If we are going to a walk destination that takes a car journey he could't be more enthusiastic. A walk from the house and it seems he can't be bothered.
Dibnlib -- We were told to take a squeaky toy to keep Bonnies attention, when we were sorting out her walking to heel problems. Not that she's much better at it, now! Soon distracted by any passing bird or cat!
Heather -- Congrats to Amy, well done! She must have worked hard.
Really tired of typing – more about that later – so I don’t think I can manage replies, but thanks for all your posts.
We had a meeting yesterday morning and I was asked to do some typing this week by two people there – most thoughtless really as they knew this is church newsletter week! One was a spreadsheet, which was just “fiddly”, the other was a group meeting schedule for which I had to design a programme card for members. I did them in the afternoon, then worked on the newsletter all evening – as well as continuing this morning. My eyes and hands are now extremely tired! But I have done enough to know that I have now gone far enough that we can finish before the weekend.
Tomorrow we are making our long-promised (to ourselves) trip to Loch Arthur for lunch and shopping.
Best wishes to all.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG - I wish you had just said 'No'.
How annoying of them, OG. You should have said "But I have the Newsletter to do, already...." and managed to look frail!
Hope you can relax now, and enjoy your little outing.
I've been doing all sorts of things. Amongst others, have just found the time to sit with my photos and try to sort them out.
Here is the promised pic of the Sparrowhawk who came down into our garden a couple of weeks ago, and made Bonnie bark loudly! I looked out of the conservatory window to see what it was, and he/she fixed me with a beady eye and went on eating.... The blue flower is in a pot below the window.
I just ordered my Christmas cards and wrap from the RSPB Site! --- 15% off if you do it before the 3rd September!!
More pics: we bought a "Lucifer" crocosmia two years ago, and now its bloomed into a beautiful plant:
Close up:
LINDY Your Crocosmia is beautiful. We have neighbours who have a wonderful border of Lucifers. We bought a Crocosmia this year for our rockery. It is not Lucifer and doesn't grow as tall, which suits us well. It is a lovely orange colour. I fancy a nice yellow one for next year.
We removed our Lucifer this year when making ready for the new deck - it was spreading corms and seedlings in among all the other plants!
