HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MONTH!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Welcome back, Odin!!!

  • CLARE    signed the petition.

We had an interesting walk this morning. We bumped into someone we haven't seen in a few weeks. I remarked on her tan and it turned out she has been in Majorca watching her daughter play tennis. Turns out that her daughter is ranked 401 on the WTA lists. She is only 20 and improving all the time. How good is that.

We had lunch at Rocpool today. As usual it was delicious. We were very disciplined, no puds and only water to drink. Result a much cheaper bill than usual.

  • I have signed the petition, thanks for putting the link here.

  • Ah, well - at least we didn't miss your birthday, Annette.  I have at least two pieces of paper somewhere with birthdays listed on it, but my desk is a disaster zone!

Been to visit Friend, who was weary after her exertions all day yesterday for charity. They made a huge total by giving a charity lunch, which sounded as if it went well.

  • Thought you would like to see this pic of the 3 bridges crossing the Forth. The new one should have been opened last year but has been delayed and now we are looking at August.

  • I found it on Facebook and thought it would be ok to post it. Hope no one minds. Off for a swim in a while, then coffee with a friend.

  • Good Morning - quick look in, it is 'all go' here. Youngest family staying, son in law has a dental emergency so has shot off to his own dentist in Elgin. I am in charge of the children but that is easy! Gas boiler definitely dodgy or the control panel is.. Awaiting a repeat visit from Scottish Gas.

Thanks to all for pics and posts.

  • Good Morning.   I had a bad night, so slept in today.  Now I've got lots to do!

Like the pic of the three bridges, Dibnlib: thanks for posting. Bridges are fascinating, a bit like planes, you wonder how they stay up!

Love the cat pic, ForestBoar!!  Cats like to sleep in a confined space, wherever.

Heather:  Hope that Scottish Gas turn up on time, and can do something.

Here's today's pic from me:  some flowers in a tub in my garden:

They are a special kind of Primula, with pink flowers and double petals, very pretty.

    Have a good day, All.

  • Lindybird: Lovely lovely primulas.

Forestboar: Who can figure out cats!

dibnlib: Really interesting and sharp pic of the three bridges. Now I'm wondering why they need three so close together. Re photos, I imagine if there's any kind of credit, we should probably include it. Copyrights and all that....

Heather: Talking of dental emergencies, I have a nice crack in a much-filled tooth and have postponed visit to dentist coz I know it's going to be a major fix with lots of - yuk - drilling. Must call today though otherwise it'll break on a Friday afternoon just before I'm heading off somewhere for a few days. Enjoy the kiddies.

OG: Hi to you via EE.  Your upper lip must be so stiff!

Rain due over the weekend - and maybe next weekend too. Amazing.

  • Annette - The red bridge is the Rail Bridge, the others are for road traffic. I think the new one is opening out of desperation, because of the heavy traffic.

It's the same all over the UK... when I left Friends house yesterday I got caught in rush hour traffic and a 15 minute journey took me three quarters of an hour.

Hope your tooth is alright.   Laughed at your remark to OG !! ;-))

  • This afternoon it took me over an hour for a journey which should have taken around 35 minutes.  That was cross-country ... traffic is a nightmare, and as for the state of the roads ... don't get me started!
