HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MONTH!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Welcome back, Odin!!!

  • More bits of our recent hols:   We go to visit the biggest town in the area, north of the island which is called Corralejo.  Its a port and ferry terminal, but has some small beaches too so is very popular as a holiday destination.

The view from our favourite coffee place on the front:

  • There are some more of the decorated fishes which is an art installation, on the harbour there:

The typical narrow streets keep it cool when the sun is hot:

We pass a shop where I always laugh at the decoration above the frontage:  a shark with a surfboard in his jaws!

-- this year I had the added treat of hearing a seven year old girl's remark as we passed them:  "Mum, that shark has a skateboard in his mouth!!!"

  • I love seeing your holiday pictures, Lindy - they are always lovely and they frequently display your great sense of humour!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Thanks, Clare.   Keep laughing, its good medicine they say (I was told that it gives your insides a workout, LOL!)

  • p.s  I'm coming on another day to tell the dramatic Tale of The Lost Hat.....

  • I'll look forward to that - especially if it's going to be as entertaining as the Toaster Saga.

  • Can't guarantee that, but it does involve a near divorce!!!!

Annette -  I've been searching my bits of paper littering my desk, as I have a horrible feeling that we've missed your birthday. Something clicked in my brain when you said you'd been out to dinner... we're obviously missing the hugely organised OG!  If we forgot, I apologise, and hope you'll accept a belated card:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY,  ANNETTE - hope it was a good one!

  • Breaking news!  OG has a date to see the Orthopaedic Consultant again.  Clinic visit, with x-ray, is on Monday 24th April.  It means one more ambulance ride to Dumfries.  I will be there as usual.

  • Diane: I can't imagine living with tornadoes (although I was watching NOVA last night about the huge Nepal earthquake....)  Hmmm. Stay warm.

Clare: :-)   How is Limpy doing?  Will sign the petition.

Lindybird:  Do like those white buildings  - but those are huge street lamps for such a narrow street!  Does that shop with the shark+surfboard actually sell surfboards? I loved the birthday card. :-)) , but it wasn't my birthday, just an Xmas gift card from my granddaughter.    My OH and I are celebrating a wedding anniversary this month. I said it was the 12th; he said the 22nd. Had to check the actual certificate to see it was the 21st.  Yes, indeed! Where is OG when we need her?

Off to sort out the world and see who in Mr. T's entourage has fallen aside today. It's hard to keep up with them.

  • Solved: The mystery of the cat with the ashen tail Our male cat Talli, his sister  Glenni is a bit more sensible.
