I know LMac is intending to go to Loch Garten this weekend, so thought I would start a thread for all the posts and photographs taken at Loch Garten during the season.

Looking forward to reading all reports on the visits this season.

Thank you Mary, that was simply beautiful. I am hoping to visit this summer, when we have a weeks holiday at Granton on Spey, that will be something special.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Brilliant, Mary, thank you! I have looked at your wonderful vid of LG yet again, and it still brings joy to my heart!

Hello popped over to LG today. EJ spent sometime whining at Odin who in turn sat sitting :) in the camera tree with his back to her. He joined her and stood standing :) beside her for a while and then flew back to camera tree to ignore her. It was a lovely 16c in the Boat and I didn't get the chance to ask Chris about streaming but I did mention to Blair if they could zoom out a bit so we didn't lose any of the beautiful EJ'S features, even if her beak is whining.
Thanks for starting this thread, Mary.
A boon to those of us who long to go to LG but never make it.......but in my case, maybe one day.....fingers crossed!
Thank you for starting this thread, MaryGK - it brought back beautiful memories of OUR visit to Loch Garten back in May 2013, whilst on holiday in Fort William.
I had been hoping to visit again this year but, just now, it looks out of the question. Neither of us drives and we rely on public transport to get around. I've had knee replacement surgery, and the walk along the lane from the bus stop will be too much for me ............. maybe next year :'(.
For anybody else who may need to visit via public transport, you can get a bus from Inverness bus station, but will possibly need to change at Carrbridge - double check as bus routes may have changed. Make sure that you ask the driver to let you know when you're approaching the stop you need! Ours put us off at the wrong stop, leaving us with a three mile trek through the forest. Not good when it left us with around an hour and a half for our visit before having to leave for the return bus.

Thank You Olliebeak for this information on anyone wanting to use Public Transport to get to Loch Garten.
I know not LG related but if anyone is on holiday and has time to explore, after nearly 50 years of holidays in the area, thanks to a friend I came across An Lochan Uaine yesterday. Legend has it that the The Green Loch in Glenmore Forest Park is green because the pixies used to wash their clothes in the loch but others prefer to belive it might just be due to the trees lying along the loch floor. I prefer the first idea
I had my first visit of the year to the visitor centre yesterday. First thing I noticed was the newly painted panel that covers the reception area when closed. Now a lovely shade of blue(compare with Mary's video above) as are the toilet doors. Just love this place and the excitement increases as I go up the path to the VC - like a big kid!!! Second thing I notice is that the walls in the VC have been painted cream - so much lighter and brighter. I did take photos of the boards but can't include them even when heavily cropped - comes up error.
Unfortunately I was only there for half an hour (arrived 12.10) as I was on my way to John O' Groats and over to Orkney, but during that time Odin was on the nest incubating and was not visible from VC, only on the screen. Meanwhile EJ was busy preening herself on the fish perch. You can just see the white of her head on the picture below. Will pop in on my way home next week
