Osprey at Hilton Head right now
Starling, That is so sad. It must happen occasionally at non-public nests but, of course, we never know about it. Life is tough for Ospreys, unfortunately.
Kind regards, Ann
Oh dear, that is sad, what a year things are turning out to be.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
So sorry to hear about Loch Doon.
Just read the post from Loch Doon, seems a problem with an intruder. Cullen not been seen, intruder still around and Angel has abandoned the eggs. Hope the male is ok. So very sad.

So sad, but thanks for the update Starling. I too hope the male is OK and we soon hear of his return.
Tweed Valley nest drama like Jeremy Kyle for ospreys
I hope you do not mind but I must say I am SO Happy!!( no one I know would understand this...)
I went to Esthwaite today and was in the car park eating my lunch and heard a 'squeaking' sound and nearly above was an osprey with a fish doing his display!! I only saw a couple of swoops then he was behind the trees but could be heard for maybe a minute.
Always wanted to see this but never have till now.
bit of edit - It was really lucky, I was there for 2 more hours after and only saw an osprey far up circling over a buzzard.
We all understand Chrisy!!
Birdies LG DU update.
It pretty late for courting displays, could it be a youngster trying his luck. White 14 could be 'in the frame', as he is said to be staying mainly around the S Lakes, it would be interesting to find out.
Just been having a look at Caerlaverock nest, which I kind of forgot about with all the drama and hatchings. Does anyone know how many eggs or if there are chicks there yet?
I assume this is still White TR.
