Happy New Week!
I'm sending love and strength to OG (Original Goldfinch) and to Eagle-Eye. Hoping for her rapid recovery.
I hope everyone has a great week!

Unknown said: Hi all, latest update re OG in hospital. She is recovering from the infection, and beginning to eat a little each meal with my help. She is now on a general ward awaiting clearance of infection before arranging transfer to Golden Jubilee Hospital at Clydebank, Glasgow for attention by the Orthopaedic National Centre. She must be feeling more with it, as she is grumpy about inadequacies in hospital domestic arrangements. (Nurses slow to respond to personal needs and pestering at awkward moments by too many different medical procedures with a variety of doctors and specialists). I am in with her each day as carer to hold hand and assist with feeding. Overall she is out of serious danger, but needing complex left knee renewal when Glasgow can get at her. Thanks for all interest. I will update again if anything changes. My best wishes to others on here either suffering or caring for someone who is.

Thank you for all your news. Have to wait in for a doctor's phone call re results from xray and consultant which I am pretty sure is going to be good news. so won't be going to the gym again. Hopefully by the week after next we will get in two visits because just lately it has mostly been a Thursday we couldn't go what with one thing and another and next week its Tuesday. Going to our Catholic Cathedral in Northampton for a thanksgiving service for one of our members at Carey (whose wife is a Catholic) for their Golden Wedding. Should be interesting and of course a lovely achievement.
AQ: 42C!? That's 107F. Ghastly! Ugh.
Heather: More family visiting? Wonderful. What time is breakfast?
EE: Will OG need knee replacement? Or did she already have one?
Thinking of Margo...
Here's to a kind Thursday for all.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Good morning, all. It hasn't been a good week for me, photographically - but we're hopefully heading off to Minsmere today in an attempt to snap the two beautiful smews which arrived this week. Fingers crossed!
Good Morning to All. Still dark here. Had one of those strange nights again, where you sleep like a log but have a wakeful period in the small hours.
Lynette - It sounds as if you will indeed, have good news re your test results. I do hope all will be well.
Heather - Enjoy your family!
EE - Our thoughts are with you both. I hope the daily improvement in OGs condition continues.
Thinking of dear Margo.
As Annette says, enjoy your Thursday everyone!
Clare - You came on whilst I was chatting to my OH instead of posting! Never heard of smews -- thanks for the info. They look pretty! Enjoy your trip out!
Today's pic -- (not smews, LOL!)
Awwwww! Gorgeous, Lindy. You are posting some lovely photos.
It's very cold here today, and more low temps on their way in the next few days. I went to the Post Office, and forgot to take gloves, which can be a problem for me, as my skin on my fingers hates the cold, and I get splits around my nails. Then I remembered that I had driving gloves in the car, so I got those out, and went around the town with bright red gloves on!
I've got snowdrops out in the garden now, and big fat buds on my camellias and magnolias - hooray!
