Here's to a new week. Sending the very best thoughts to all.
Daughter and dog now en route home. Phew. Cat has stopped skulking about and peering suspiciously around every corner.
In case you missed it, Lindybird is back from her cruise.
Rosy: Daughter made it easy this time - she corralled a friend and her son to do most of the feeding but there was just one day when neither could do it. Grandson put everything in labeled tubs so all I had to do was toss it over the fence! Why are cats so inflexible? :-)
HEATHER - my first thought is always the Warthog, as we had a pianist/singer friend who used to do it to entertain our girls when they were little!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Also the Hippopotamus song of course - am I right that Ian Wallace used to sing that one?
Not sure about Ian Wallace singing that one, OG but you are probably correct, your memory is phenomenal!
Ha ha, just listened to the Hippopotamus song on you tube! Brought back memories.
My kindle is running out of juice so will shut down and read my book. Hope to hear in the morning, that ANNETTE has arrived safely, in Arizona.
Ah yes!, I remember the Hippopotamus song.
Heather, good luck with finishing the kitchen. This sort of work always takes longer that you hope it will. At least it is now your choice of kitchen.
Lindy., I once had an Awful Cousin (older than me). She lived in the US and we didn't hear from her for years. Suddenly, she announced that she was coming over to see her family. Fair enough. Another cousin and I made her very welcome and spent some time taking her sightseeing the first time . Likewise the second and third times (we had moved house in between, so more to see)
On the last occasion. I said we were thinking of taking a holiday across the pond, and could she recommend some places in her area.(Virginia) I didn't hear another word, until she wanted to visit the next year. Apparently, she had 'lost' my address in the meantime. I suddenly decided my whole house needed redecorating!
AQ, Glad the knee was good on your last trip.Definitely book that NZ one now.
Hello to OG.
Margo and Brenda, I join everyone else in sending good wishes to you and your families.
Thinking of Diane as well.
I love Flanders & Swann. Especially "The Gasman Cometh" ..... :-))
Rosy - Your story sounds strangely familiar........ LOL!!
Hello all. Back from our holiday in Yorkshire.
First of all, Margo and her sister, Brenda's SinL and anyone else who is going through the mill, so to speak, at present - my thoughts are with you all. A Christian org. posted this prayer on FB recently, I thought it was a lovely one and I hope no-one will be offended if I share it with you.
to all who are finding life difficult at present.
Have been catching up with your news so far this week. So pleased you enjoyed your cruise Lindybird and that Bonnie was a good girl.
Loved reading what has been happening. Just posting a couple of pics re holiday - showing the wide open spaces of the dales etc and what is so beautiful about our country.
