Hi everyone,
Well its been a day of exercising, fish bringing, and generally ospreys being ospreys. The weather could be a bit better though. Very windy again and it did rain yesterday, more in the evening than daytime.
The young ones keep getting up for a stretch and a mouch, but generally are keeping low because of the wind. EJ is probably in her tree.
Happy viewing and see you in the morning. Night, night.

Wind is still blowing a gale at the nest site, all three huddled together, EJ off the nest at present.
Just played catchup - thanks Alan for letting us know about Thurday's possible r&t session round about 8pm. Will have to make sure I'm watching it or do a video.
Got to log out until later now but hopefully when I come back the wind will have dropped a bit and a fish comes in for them. EJ away at the moment so perhaps she is trying.

Still quiet on the nest with no sign of EJ. If I'm right, they have had only one fish all day. Obviously the weather is making fishing very difficult.

Quiet, Lynette? I assume you mean if you ignore the wind! LOL. I've got the sound on minimum and it's still doing my head in.
Wow! That wind is even worse than this morning. Do I say correctly that there are no more fish to add to the Fish List for today? Good job that these three are truly well fed and can live on what they have already.
This is the GBS alright - that's the Great British Summer, to those who don't know!
Afternoon everyone on the daily. I have been watching but not had time to post recently. The wind is blowing ferociously here and much the same at LG. Its hot and sunny if you can find a sheltered spot out of the wind but obviously not possible on the nest. Forecast is for much of the same tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up re rining and tagging tomorrow. Winds are still forecast to be at 20mph so I'm not sure how likely this is. Rain forecast for Friday and Saturday at Aviemore which I think is the nearest weather centre to LG. We've had a whole month of beautiful weather and now it comes to ringing, etc, the elements are not favourable. Fishing must be near impossible for the osps today both from the point of view of the birds being able to fly in a straight line and from the choppy waters they are facing. Any fish brought in are a real achievement. Youngsters are still huddled up.
Decided to get all housework and shopping done today, so I can watch tomorrow, but as Emma says, the wind will be the same tomorrow and will still have gusts of 32mph with a steady wind of 20mph at 7pm tomorrow evening ( Met. Office weather).
Hi Brenda. Yes we can only hope the forecasters have it wrong (which does happen) otherwise I can't see the ringing and tagging going ahead anytime in the next three days! Poor Roy. Planning his days must be pretty difficult at the moment.
I think, listening to that wind, that this is what I would be doing, too.....
