Hi everyone,
Well its been a day of exercising, fish bringing, and generally ospreys being ospreys. The weather could be a bit better though. Very windy again and it did rain yesterday, more in the evening than daytime.
The young ones keep getting up for a stretch and a mouch, but generally are keeping low because of the wind. EJ is probably in her tree.
Happy viewing and see you in the morning. Night, night.

Hi everyone. Thanks for starting another Daily Update Lynette. Thanks to everyone for all the updates and pics yestarday. Great stuff as always.Wind seems to be picking up at LG again. Here's hoping it calms down by the morning so the youngsters can get ringed and blinged.Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Two of the GEMs awake, while the third snoozes.
The wind doesn't look as severe today. When the GEMs are preening and removing little white puffy feathers the wind is not blowing them like it has been the past few day. Most of them are just settling on the nest
So maybe they will be able to ring them today.

Morning; Thanks Lynette - Hi Heron and Barbara Jean. Looks nice there today. Wonder what time they'll ring the birds.
Off topic; On Cam 2 at LOTL there's a fat gray "speckled" bird with long gray tail feathers at the feeder. Any idea what it might be?
In the past few days when I have logged in I am not hoping for a fish delivery, I am hoping all the GEMs are still on the nest :)
You're not kidding Barbara Jean - did you just see that!? I thought that chick was going to take off!!
Did EJ just bring a fish?
Hmm. She took right off again and nobody rushed to eat, so maybe it was just a branch. She's back now and seriously reinforcing the nest just under the camera. Now she has her back to us - lovely view of her back feathers!

No I missed that one. But yesterday when EJ flew to her tree, #1 started batting it's wings like crazy and was looking in her direction. It definitely wanted to follow her. It helicoptered and landed on EJ's favorite perch on the right side of the nest. A couple more wing flaps and it would have been off the edge of the nest and air borne
No, she brought a long stick, and copped a couple of pecks from one of the chicks for her trouble. Ej stretched and flapped her wings slwoly, while looking at the offending chick. Said chick looked hard at mum and her wings, then stretched hers out and flapped slowly to show mum how big they were now. Rivalry developing?Anyway, EJ left the nest for a while. LOL!
Smiles, Jan.
