However did I manage to get in ahead of the lovely Annette and the excellent Diane to start this thread? Goodness only knows. Perhaps both ladies are all Trumped out!!
Have a good week, everyone - and special thoughts to Margo, her lovely hubby and Billie!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Lynette: Hope OH's toothache and dressing change won't take up the whole day.
Nice dinner out with OH; the place isn't closing down until November, so we plan to make several forays before then.
Have a good Thursday all.
A quick drop in to explain why AWOL. On Sat I was hobbling, left knee swollen, didn’t understand what I did to cause it. By Sun couldn’t walk, Barely manage a shuffle to toilet (just across passage). Called Physio for home visit yesterday, she thinks it’s an arthritis flare. I put myself back on anti-inflams, will ring my Doc this pm when she’s on duty for advice. Just now it was a choice to shuffle to T or computer! You won! I see lots of reading. You have all been busy.
AQ: Nice to know we rate higher than the toilet. Sorry about the knee. I remember something called water on the knee when I was growing up; maybe it's got a more sophisticated name these days. Anyway, just a thought. If it is arthritis, hope it goes away soon and won't interfere with any excursions to churches, bakeries, or toilets. :-)
Lindybird said:I've just had some news........apparently I'm now a Great Aunt, as my brother's daughter gave birth to a little boy last night.
Good Morning. Sunshine again, whoopie!
Thanks for the congrats - wonder how my bro feels about being Grandpa at last!
Lynette - Its the tiny steam train which goes along the edge of the Lake at Llanberis - it doesn't go far but is very cute: you can go the train station there and watch it come in and go out, without actually riding on it. There is also another train station in the town which is much bigger, where the train goes up Snowdon - well worth doing but you have to book a seat in advance in the high season. It's the only way to get up to the top of Snowdon without either walking or climbing! (You can book online, I think)
Annette - Glad you both had an enjoyable celebratory meal.
I've been busy dealing with photos, in the absence of my OH who has once again decided to go & hit a little white ball across the landscape....
Shouldn't bore everyone with pics of grandchildren, but can't resist putting up these......
Matthew is able to explore now that he is mobile...
What is my brother doing on that shiny screen thing??

Lindybird: Matthew is growing by leaps and bounds. Looks like it's time for those allegedly child-proof locks again.
Totally non-Osprey, although both of us love them, we do have some closer to home friends who are seriously endangered. Around 4 years ago we had strange noises outside our bedroom window. We decided that this was obviously wildlife and invested in a trailcam (as used in all good documentaries by the **C (can't publicise!). We have since followed these beautiful creatures through their adventures. We now have a feeding station and a house for them. Last year we caught clips of a 'pair' of these solitary animals and pondered. This year has provided some remarkable footage of a pair, obviously in a mating ritual as they are not fighting as these solitary animals do. For anyone who does not know these animals they are, of course, HEDGEHOGS. Together with a neighbour, who witnessed a fight (don’t ask me what he was doing looking out of his bedroom window at 2am, he does have quite a few years on us, and was woken up with the noise, he saw a hedgehog fight between two obvious males.
So currently we are aware of two males and one female in our area. Last night we filmed what was obviously a courtship ritual (no fighting involved) which ended off camera (no budding stars then).
photo not posted as can't work it out and I am not yet into the vagaries of YouTube so can't post video clips yet – time, and plants have arrived to be sorted out and planted, roofers doing brilliantly, busy day tomorrow,OH is unfortunately going to be housebound as I haven't been cloned yet!! If anyone can tell me how to include photos – would be grateful, lack of time to research.
Regards to all. Busy time for next couple of days.
Hi, Keith! Wonderful story about the hedgehogs. They are fabulous creatures!
