This is a continuation thread following the travels of osprey Breagha, hatched at Loch Garten in 2013.
I put together this table to set out the big events of Breagha's life, and his migrations. I might continue trying to get it to display better, but the links to LG blogs seem to work.

Looks like Breagha has found another nice stopover
Thanks ALAN
Hi, i'm back from the Loire.
Breagha's moves from Aug 21st-24th (on Google Earth though LG blogs have not yet caught up) :
I reckon his move east on the 22nd was to take shelter from a storm front. There was torrential rain in Western France on the night of 22nd/23rd and then very strong winds during the 24th. Will post more about the Loire later.
Nice to see you back, Sue. I'm assuming you didn't see him?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
No Clare - I knew there was very little chance of seeing him, so I decided to concentrate on the trip I'd booked, which did take me to some of Breagha's favourite places.
This was probably the closest I got to Breagha - taken at lunchtime on Aug 19th, looking west along the Vienne from the Royal Fortress of Chinon.
If I'd been there a few hours earlier, Breagha MIGHT have been visible crossing from right to left, as he left the area heading south!

Thanks, Sue. I trust you had a lovely time despite not seeing Breagha. Beautiful view from that fortress, and lots of lovely trees to perch in. I imagine Breagha will be back next year for another mini holiday, but I hope he shows up at LG as well.
Kind regards, Ann

Yes it was a very enjoyable week. The next sequence of photos are from a walk we did starting in neigbouring Anjou, along the south bank of the Loire from Montsoreau to Candes-Saint-Martin. Breagha favoured the area on the opposite bank towards the end of his stay in Sept/Oct 2013.
