This is a continuation thread following the travels of osprey Breagha, hatched at Loch Garten in 2013.
I put together this table to set out the big events of Breagha's life, and his migrations. I might continue trying to get it to display better, but the links to LG blogs seem to work.

Breagha update.....
He has started roaming much further afield in the last week, though always returning to his usual section of the Loire to roost. The red pushpin marks the final point of the update, on the 11th.
On 7th Aug, he travelled 60km to the south west, and in the middle part of the day was around these ponds, near Saint-Sauveur in the Deux-Sevres department.
Thank you Sue, for the update and this thread. I appreciate all your hard work in putting it all together.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
On the 11th, he crossed the Vienne, and was again hanging around this area in the forest of Fontevraud, where there is a tank or pond.
We will be visiting Fontevraud Abbey on the trip, but probably not passing this spot!
Best wishes for seeing Breagha, Sue. When do you leave for France?
Kind regards, Ann
This week, but having studied the maps, bus timetables and Breagha's latest movements, I am really not hopeful of seeing him in person. The trees seem to prevent a view of his current roost area from the south bank of the Loire, and in the middle part of the day when I could get there, it appears from the latest update that he could well be exploring up to 40 miles away.
So I am planning to stick with the tour itinerary most of the time. I will try to have a look in the Parc d'Usse at a roost he was using in mid-July, and if I feel I have had enough chateaux, I will do a walk through the Bocage du Veron, the area where he was based in September 2013. Seeing an osprey would be a bonus though!
Update for Breagha on Google Earth to 15th August
Well, nevermind, Sue, if you do not see Breagha, we will all sympathise. But I imagine we are all willing him to show himself to you anyway. Have a great time regardless. I look forward to a trip report--it will be interesting to see photos and/or a description of the area where he seems settled and happy.
I wish you a happy holiday Sue, and fingers crossed for a possible sighting of Breagha!
