WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2015

Hi everyone!

  • Raining here. I had a 9am appointment at the hairdressers. We then went shopping at Waitrose, followed by a visit to a garden centre to look at garden furniture. we didn't buy anything but did have lunch there.

Linda, love mother hippo and baby.

Annette, I have occasionally watched a great dane site in Ipswich, Massachusetts. They have been getting so much snow, with even more forecast. They say that other warmer and snow free areas are sending snow trucks to transport snow away from Massachusetts and Boston. It really is horrendous.

Diane, Good to hear that you are so busy. I hope that means that you are being paid :-))

AQ, I was looking at photographs of a thunderstorm over Sydney Harbour bridge. The photographs were fantastic but not so nice for those living there.

  • Hello all-

DIANE- great to hear from you and to hear that you are busy. Just what we want to read :-))

ANNETTE- How dare you have warm weather! It is a whole big 1.6C here just now. I imagine WENDY will be colder. RITA also gets lower temps than us, we sit at sea level.

No real news from here, SHEANA was convinced that she was being moved to Aviemore today. The home have promised me that they will phone her GP on Monday. I told them that I will phone on Monday.Watch this space.

    Regards to all

  • Airport run done..... eldest safely home in Bath..

    Missing her already .

Airport via Lochindord... Totally frozen and an amazing sight.

Roll on March for my next adventure:-)

  • Had a very busy day today both inside and out, I even washed the kitchen floor!  It was sunny and warm so I went outside and raked the leaves off my two big shrub beds, had four heaped barrow loads of leaves to take down to the end of the garden.  It looks much better now and I can see all the little bulbs coming through everywhere, and the snowdrops are looking very nice.  I talked to a nice lady walking her little boy back from school and she said how much she enjoyed looking at my garden last summer, especially the blue poppies, so I felt quite pleaed that someone else had liked them too.

Lindybird - Loved the picture of that adorable little baby hippo and its mother.

Margo -  Am thinking of you, it must be difficult to drink so much liquid each day, I do hope you will be feeling a little better soon.

Annette -  You seemed to have had a good time with your friend's visit.  I hope you enjoy growing your Olive tree, you are lucky to be able to grow it outside.   I have a nice one but have to grow it in a tub and bring it inside to the conservatory in the winter.  Has  your Epiphyllum flowered yet, they have wonderful flowers, perhaps we could see a picture?

  • Heather -  I see it is 1.6C with you at the moment, it is very cold here now, I think we will definitely have a frost tonight, but earlier in the day it was sunny and quite warm, it really lifted my spirits!

  • Yes RITA, We have had some lovely days, haven't we? My OH has been working in the garden too. We don't have a large garden but he just can't wait to get going when the days start to stretch.

  • Hello, all.  Not much going on here, and we only got a few minutes of sunshine, which decided to occur when I was using the computer so couldn't see the screen!  We have had several episodes of drizzle.

Been thinking of MARGO: I hope the drinking is working, and that you will fell better over the weekend.

I think we are going to a small local craft fair tomorrow - looking for a gift for younger Granddaughter (15 next week!); if nothing found, it'll have to be an Amazon voucher, I think.  We shall probably get lunch there - they usually have some good soups on offer.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Still raining here.

Rita, A neighbour also grows two olive trees in pots ( 8 years old now ) and they just wrap the pots in bubble wrap each winter. We didn't think that they would survive, but he has proved us all wrong. Glad you, Wendy and Heather have been enjoying some sunshine.

OG, Enjoy the craft fair. I think a 15yr old would appreciate a voucher or even some money.

Heather, I am glad that the home are going to arrange for Sheana to see her Dr. I know you feel responsible and you have always been good friends, but I am sure you will feel happier if the doctor gives his opinion. It is a great worry for you. X

  • Lindy - it seemed to be going swimmingly, posting all messages, pics etc and then it seems to have thrown a bit of a wobbly recently. Either too slow in posting so if you move on it hasn't posted or not posting at all.  Let's hope its just a few gremlins having a play. So you're going to be doing some puppy walking then.

Brenda - thanks for letting us know. Do hope Margo picks up soon. Thinking of her and all who are suffering through illhealth or bereavements.
