Happy new week and happy solstice!
Last week's Chat Thread is here.
For most of us, today is the Winter Solstice. Welcome back to the Sun! With the return of the light, I'd like to wish all of my dear friends on this thread a happy holiday season and a new year blessed with joy, abundance, good health, serenity, and love!
The solstice occurs on 21 December at:
2303 GMT11:03 p.m. in the U.K.6:03 p.m. in the eastern U.S.3:03 p.m. in CaliforniaAnd for AQ: Happy Summer Solstice on 22 December at 9:33 a.m.This solstice is special because it happens within 2 and a half hours of the New Moon. I'm seeing this cosmic event as a fresh start and a new beginning. Woo hoo!The photo is of the Sun in the midst of a powerful and spreading coronal mass ejection. The photo was taken by the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, a partnership of the European Space Agency and NASA. The image is free for non-commercial use. SOHO (ESA & NASA)
HEATHER - pleased about good news from Denmark!
CLARE - thanks for that positive thought!
Got up later today - just about to eat breakfast! not much to do this morning - just three things needing ironing, I think, while OH shops.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good Morning All - Very mild day again here. Time is flying by quicker and quicker, my family are arriving tomorrow evening, hope they have a good journey. I have just had a huge delivery from Tesco's, I do not know how I am going to fit it all in! I still have to go down to the greengrocers in Beauly for veg. and fruit. I have really got going with all the decorating at last and am enjoying it very much! Have a happy, busy, ( or relaxing ) day everyone!

I hope this story has a happy ending!
I'm sure it will, OG - we saw this on our local Northern News, and it was going to be looked after by the Willdlife experts. Good job there is someone out there who is willing to help with unusual events like this!! There was also an article about the Dogs Home which was destroyed by fire not long ago: the helpers there are overwhelmed by the support they have had from the public, nice to hear a happy story for once.
I've come on as I intended to change my avatar this week: I've used a pretty Christmas Tree but it's come out really small, almost unrecognisable! never mind...
Here's someone else waiting for Christmas:
"Has Santa been yet, Mum?!"
.......Forgot to say, there's been a new Blog from LG......
Morning all: I'm still smiling at the report on the BBC about the injured parrot on the roadway in Aberdeen. When the SPCA arrived, they discovered it was a fluffy Christmas hat, "now being safely looked after at our center...." said the SPCA staffer.
Let dog out this morning; cat came in. I went back to bed; woke up to find cat poo by the dining room table. Merry Christmas and Bon Appetit everyone.
LOL Annette!!!!
