Happy new week

  • so are we, Lindy.

Weather has been windy, sunny and showery for the last day or two otherwise not too bad.  Managed to get into gear at the gym again after 10 days break, only managed 14 but hope to build up next week when we go twice.

Not a lot happening here but hope all are well and have a great weekend.

  • Margo - it is really lovely to hear from you and that you have had encouraging news re blood test for chemo next week.  Wishing you all the best and hope that a corner has been turned and that the condition is being managed on the right side. Take care and God Bless.

OG - just read the communication from Valerie. Although I never managed to get up to LG he was always sharing in good and bad news and seemed a lovely man. I hope he enjoys his retirement doing what he wants to do. Happy retirement from me and no doubt we will be informed when he is leaving so we can all wish him well on the blog.

  • Margo - Great that you have good news. {{{HUGS}}}

Rita – Snap. So much for me & my good deeds – daughter repaid me by passing on her head cold. Mine has settled in chest & I spent last night trying to sleep sitting up. Has to be a quick recovery as I have a bus trip tomorrow to places in Adelaide Hills with Scottish heritage – Inverbrackie, Murdoch Hill, Nairne to name a few.

  • Lindy - although I didn't stay in Criccieth too many times the years I stayed was in the sixties when I joined a holiday youth club run by CSSM and also went to the beach services they held.   So many memories of that part of the world.  We also stayed at Four Crosses which is also on the Lleyn Peninsula.

Cornwall - we have been in and around it on three occasions now and I have always loved seeing the lovely seaside towns tucked into coves and on hillsides, mind you we always went towards the end of the season - Sept/Oct or May time when it was a little quieter.  Hear are one or two more.

      we visited Jamaica Inn again

on the way home we stayed outside Bath but popped into the city on our way to our accommodation.

this church was set in the valley.  It was where a rather eccentric parson buried about 41 shipwrecked sailors.  Also the font in the church dates back to approx 950 AD. It was in a delightful setting near the village of Welcombe.

  • Good Morning. Nice to see your pics, Lynette. AQ - sorry you're suffering and hope it doesn't affect your trip as you are off travelling once again. Sunny & bright here today, whoo hoo!!! Off to do boring food shopping once Ive got dressed.
  • Good morning, all.  It's a drizzly start here but on the plus side we've had a sparrowhawk on our back gate and a willow warbler on our feeders!  Lovely.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning. We have had rain and thunder during the night and this morning. It is very dark, wet and dismal.

Thanks Lynette for your cheerful holiday photographs.

AQ, I hope you don't have to cancel your trip.

Linda, Enjoy the sunshine. I am so jealous.

Clare, Never had a willow warbler in the garden. Well done.

  • I've never had a W. Warbler in the garden, either! Lucky you, Clare & Limpy! Brenda - the sun was nice while it lasted, but now its grey again. It changed as soon as I pulled out a load from the washing machine, LOL! Sorry you had a thundery night.
  • All okay - even sat in garden a short while - will catch up tomorrow.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Glad you can report in that "All is okay" OG.  And you even sat in the garden!  We went for a walk in the fields, without coats, and I spent half an hour pottering around dead heading plants etc.

My OH has been feeling tired, just as I began to feel lots better & more energised....  Such is life, we don't always coincide! Must get my beauty sleep now so that I can get some more pottering done tomorrow. Night All.
