This is a new thread to follow the travels of these three young ospreys from the Loch Garten nest.
Millicent
This female juvenile is the eldest of the 2014 brood, hatched on 17th May and fledged on 12th July. Millicent’s ring is Blue/White AN0
Seasca
Also female, the second of the 2014 brood, hatched 19th May and fledged on 15th July. Seasca’s ring is Blue/White AN9.
LG blog on the ringing and tagging of Millicent & Seasca. Their younger sister Druie is not tagged, but ringed Blue/White AN8.
Breagha
A male from the 2013 brood, hatched 28th May and fledged on 19th July. Breagha’s ring is Blue/white CF4.
LG blog on the ringing and tagging Breagha and elder sibling Oighrig.
The migrations of Breagha and Oighrig were previously followed in this thread. Contact was lost with Oighrig in January 2014, but Breagha has survived and is living in the tidal creeks of the Casamance river in southern Senegal.

I think there are some glitches in the latest GE update for Millie, which seems to be out of step with Richard's description in the blog. I think the points dated 28th Aug probably fit into the 26th - you wouldn't normally get data from the same day as the update.
If I'm right, this would be the latest point mentioned by Richard "6 km SSE of Monmouth", and also on the Wye.
This is the grid square on the Geograph site
Yes I noticed that when viewed in Google Earth Millie's path had glitches.

Amazingly, so did I! A lot of to-ing and fro-ing

Seeing as you have added your observation, SHEILA, I will too - to say that my GE makes it look as though Millie flew back the way she came :o I'm sure 'they' will have noticed and hope they an fix it for the update.

Hello,
I'm trying to track Millie on Google Earth - but there are so many other tracks on there its difficult to see which are the recent ones and which are from some years ago. Does anyone know how to delete the older tracks? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

You just uncheck the top box and all the tracks will disappear.
Then just put the back as you want them by ticking the boxes by the individual birds. In this case i presume you are looking for Millie. Here are the unchecked boxes
Thank you so much. I'll try it.
According to the simpler tracking map I am using from LG, it does look as if Millie backtracked, being further south on 26th than 28th ... is this correct?

I feel sure that is a plotting glitch but I do not know for certain.
Thanks TM, maybe will be sorted on next update!
Just realised that Scylla had mentioned this earlier - whoops!
