This is a new thread to follow the travels of these three young ospreys from the Loch Garten nest.
Millicent
This female juvenile is the eldest of the 2014 brood, hatched on 17th May and fledged on 12th July. Millicent’s ring is Blue/White AN0
Seasca
Also female, the second of the 2014 brood, hatched 19th May and fledged on 15th July. Seasca’s ring is Blue/White AN9.
LG blog on the ringing and tagging of Millicent & Seasca. Their younger sister Druie is not tagged, but ringed Blue/White AN8.
Breagha
A male from the 2013 brood, hatched 28th May and fledged on 19th July. Breagha’s ring is Blue/white CF4.
LG blog on the ringing and tagging Breagha and elder sibling Oighrig.
The migrations of Breagha and Oighrig were previously followed in this thread. Contact was lost with Oighrig in January 2014, but Breagha has survived and is living in the tidal creeks of the Casamance river in southern Senegal.
I too am 'gutted' by the news, and although I am realistic, I can't help reading perhaps more into Richard's words than I ought. He said "last Thursday was at 21.00 GMT 21 August when she was flying at an altitude of 110m over the Bay of Biscay with around 300 km still to go". She was flying at a height of 110m, not at zero. Perhaps there is still hope?

I couldn't believe it when I read the news....no words to describe how I feel Can't stop thinking about her I was convinced that we would read she was in Spain Hang on to a thin thread of hope
There is a separate thread about Seasca here
There is a Google Earth update for Millicent - this was her location on Sunday night in the Peak District, Derbyshire
I believe it fair to mention that the thread on Seasca moves from the scenario, still to be verified, that no data might be received with the next download scheduled to happen soon. It was mainly a discussion on technology faults and difficulties migrating ospreys must cope with. No doubt that concerns on Seasca triggered the discussion, but I'm pretty sure that nobody wanted to jump to conclusions there.Seasca deserves the same attention as her big sister until proven otherwise. Even if it might seem a silly repetition, here is her latest reported position. Fingers crossed for what tomorrow or Friday will bring.
Thanks SC for the info on Millie, be interesting to see where she has gone to from there - presume an update on her tomorrow as well as Seasca?

Thank you Sue. Looks a good spot to roost up.
Birdies LG DU update.
Looking at Millie's route, she might have been the Osprey seen over Combs Moss. I live right near there and could have seen her, if only.
As you all know, Seasca is now presumed dead. Sad news, I'm posting here, as I think it's the appropriate thread for keeping records.

Millie latest fix on river Wye:
Let's hope Millie and Breaghe continue to amaze us with their flights.
Yes it is sad about Seasca but at least she had a short time flying free.
