I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Lmac - Don't know if you have seen this already, but I have only just found it.

Thanks for the update Starling - not quite the good news "chick sitting in nearby tree" fledge news that we like but ......here's hoping s/he comes back to visit so that viewers know it is okay
Looks like Miracle from the Alcoa nest has fledged. EN at the moment.
Starling what happened at alcoa this year, was it different parents
Yes Lmac, I had all but given up on the nest as it looked like there would be no chicks this year, the eggs were left unattended a lot, and then one of the eggs hatched, so have been looking in now and again.

Thx Starling. I watched Alcoa last year but haven't looked at all this year. Last year was lovely when little no4 made it through sibling fighting to be a beautiful healthy osprey.
What a skinny osprey with big long legs :)
Tiger - Thank you for the video.
What a beautiful young male. They are a fairly long-legged bird, though this bird seems to lack the fluffy backside I'm used to seeing - which is making his legs look even longer.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
