I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
KEITH - thanks for the update on the Lochter nest and for the wonderful photos. Just fantastic to see a great outcome here especially after the scare on hearing about the fishing twine in the nest earlier in the season.
More about Nel in the media.

Thanks for this link TM, nearly got their facts right!! Jumped off to O.W.L. to catch up with latest on Nel & read all their oh-so-interesting stories of other current rescue birds with some wonderful pics too! What a well organised group & lovely to see all the different foster mums they have to give their rescue chicks the best chance to be released into the wild!

I hope The Grampian Ringers do not mind me sharing this find and capture especially Ewen as I shared it from him.
The photograph (C) was taken by and credits to Harry Scott breeding at the nest near Aboyne in Aberdeenshire.
It was ringed in 2002 by Stuart Rae.
I imagine the team were ringing at the nest when they managed to get this picture.

Thank you TIGER. IMHO, that's a much better quality report than you often get in the media!
But as for Nel's longterm prospects, we can only wait and see.
