I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Lmac, I'm not surprised, I thought he was losing the battle on Tuesday, but I had hoped I was wrong.

Just got home had a look at the cam & chat. Nellie still not taking the fish, so it's not looking good for the other chick either. Cam is uncomfortable viewing for some so they are looking for a happier nest. Moderator in chat doesn't know why Tag passed.
I think Nellie is now in "flight" zone, she has tried the "fight" and it is just too tough for a single bird. The signs were looming from yesterday morning.
So now 6am ish at Nelson delivery should be arriving in around 30 mins lets see what nellie does
That's the cam off for the fish on the tray to be replaced.
They need to put it directly on the nest today and not the tray. Perhaps the daily disturbance is too much for Nellie
Oh sad to read that little Tag has not made it I fear that there may not be a good outcome here in spite of all their efforts Poor Nellie
On another subject bbc news website Scotland amazing video of renegade juvenile sea eagle at the spring watch nest pushing the little chick out. Luckily it was found 30ft down and put back. Sorry not on pc so cant do a link.
I read that somewhere the other day Lmac. I will see if I can find it.
Here is the link Footage of Sea Eagle Raiding Scottish Springwatch Nest
Well that's the cam up and running but she has not gone for any fish so far. Nel is screaming for food, but Nellie is just standing at side of nest so far.
