I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
This must be the news that Paul Wright alluded to above. A nest in Powys on a Natural Resources Wales site. Both Dyfi and Glaslyn are in Powys as far as I can tell (my geography of Wales is sadly lacking, but I hope to rectify that at some point).
I thought this para was interesting: "There were some concerns over the safety of the eggs when two additional young ospreys showed up last month and tried to take over the nest but the parents held their ground and we were delighted when the chicks hatched." Could this be Dai Dot and Blue 24, asked she wishfully!

Tiger Signature
The section labelled 'Snowdonia' is actually Gwynedd
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
LOL Chloe, no wonder I get confused! And Montgomeryshire (Wildlife Trust)?Does this mean there are now four publicly known nests?
I am learning geography too Sheila. Mongomeryshire is the northern part of Powys :)
Here is the Friends of the Ospreys website. They have built lots of platforms in Wales including the one in Snowdonia.
Great news story about the love triangle that is Drunkie, Katrine and Arklet on BBC News/Scotland website under Tayside. Sorry would paste in but on my phone and at work. I wonder what will happen if Arklet hatches a brood also.
In 1974 there was a major reorganisation of the County Council structure. It was particularly drastic in Wales where (almost?) all the old county names vanished from official maps.
Mongomeryshire is an old county name. Powys is a new one.
Another victim was England's smallest county - Rutland.

Similar changes happened in England. Confusing, but interesting.
