I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Strange things happen. See Osprey Update
At Terrapin Cover the fourth egg was laid up to 14 days after the first!
Tiger Signature
Further update from Tweed Valley. They are now saying they think the original female was possibly ill and died and that this is a new female.

Thanks STARLING.. I just came to post the link. The male doesn't seem to be welcoming the new female that has appeared.
Thanks for the link Starling, it's a sad read.
Thank you for the link STARLING More extremely sad news
I saw the bird on Sunday sitting with drooped wings but when they said the female had returned, I didn't comment as I just thought perhaps the bird was hot as it was a warm day
Sad read indeed. Without id there is no way of knowing age. How old is SS?
Just read the link courtesy of Tiger's quick link to the news! Very sad reading on Tweed and shows nature at its rawest. Tragic that the female made such a journey and was so far along and died. So much sadness this year with the nests.

SS is allegedly 16 years old and was hatched at Aberfoyle. I say allegedly as the white ring might suggest he is 17 years old the same as EJ.
So much sadness this year with the nests.
There is but perhaps balanced by an idyllic LG/Hopefully more good news later today at Dyfi/ Site B at Rutland/Bassenthwaite.........
the nest site i was on about earlier is not so secret anymore
