I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Caerlaverock - fantastic news, there is a chick :-)))
lovely shot of the little one peeking out from under mum :-)
The chick looks lovely and strong
The Caerlaverock Osprey Project is a joint project with WWT, FCS and SNH. Webcam:
Caerlaverock female left just before 10:20 for what I would think a quick break leaving dad looking after the chick but now 10:38 and she still hasn't returned and of course the chick is uncovered!!
Edit: 10:40 Dad makes an attempt to cover the chick
10:42 the female returns with a stick, the male leaves and she snuggles down on the chick and eggs
First feed for the Caerlaverock chick - male delivers fish, removes head and the female feeds the little one
Great news...What a shame I missed it though as haven't had a chance to look in this morning Thanks Karen

Male (Yellow 80) delivered fish at 10:24. Female rose and chick #2 was hatching :-)) Female feeds #1 and eventually at 10:34 I could see that #2 had its head out of the shell. Wonderful to watch - just feel so privileged :-)
