I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Thanks very much karen m for the link to the Facebook page link. Will check it out now!

It is nice to see how the nest was built up, and to now know what their names are!
oh no it looks like Lucy and Larry bald eagles have maybe lost their nest. How sad poor Lucy, and after all she has managed to achieve with only 1 talon (and an injured one at that). Two new birds have been nestorising since a stramash yesterday afternoon :(
A NEW BLOG from Kielder. Nest is looking great.
Thank you Mary
It looks like bald eagle Lucy has been ousted/left and a new female is now mating with Larry. The experts at that nest seem to think her injuries have left her unable to /want to mate. No mating witnessed over the last two years. She took off in the middle of an intruder attack and has not been seen since. larry on the other hand kept his nest, saw of the intruding male but managed to keep the intruding female and they are now happily bonding

I have been watching the Pink Shell Beach Nest off and on for the last 30 mins, and I think this female is a first time mother. When I first looked the chicks were on their own, then next time they were on their own with half a fish, then the female has been standing doing nothing and not feeding her chicks. Poor wee things were trying to eat the fish themselves.

Now they are on their own again and the female has flown off with the fish. I hope they will be OK. Cannot help but worry about them.
So relieved, I can go to bed happy now. Female has come back and she is feeding the chicks now.
