I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Off topic, I know, but I must post Lin Lawson's little tribute to Phoebe, the mother hummingbird who went missing a couple of days ago. Her chicks are safe with a rehabber.
IMAGICAT
That is lovely scylla. Lin is a very talented artist.

Thanks Scylla for the videos from Sanibel, and for posting Lin's photo of Phoebe.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Thanks for the Sanibel update Scylla. Does that mean that Belle was evicted or has she been renamed.
"They" don't think she's Belle, LMAC, so we're treating her as a new female and we have christened her Frida :-/
Around 0700hr this morning Iceman called in, stayed looking around for a minute, left. At about 0845hr another (?) osprey, whom I can't ID, did the same, stayed only 45 seconds. That's all so far...
Oh! I forgot to post that, by the looks of it.
Since then, we have a female who's been on the nest for AGES, fish calling sometimes but quiet now. Don't know who she is. We're going back thru videos trying to sort out these ospreys, it's very tiring indeed!
[Edited by mods] I don't see lmac's pics either white square with red cross.
Sanibel nest empty just now.
Update from Dunedin:
"CAM UPDATE:
Facilities installed the camera on the pole and we were able to verify that the camera is operational. Facilities did a top job! The camera is still not viewable by the public because one of the Wireless Access Points(WAPs) are not communicating correctly. It has been determined that the problem is the WAP at the pole. A new WAP has been ordered and as soon as it arrives, we should be up and streaming!"
Iceman, the apparently resident male on the Sanibel nest, has been on the nest a lot during their morning - nestorising (but nothing major), nestcupping, just sitting there.
Here, he brought in a bit more than a twig ;-)
No females seen.
1st egg on the 2014 Blackwater NWR Eagle Cam has arrived!
