I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Interestingly how success and failure is perceived. There may have only been two chicks in 2004 but what chicks.....5N (04) and 5R (04) both returning to Rutland and set up their own dynasties.
There were only four chicks raised in England and Wales in 2004. Now if Monty the Dyfi male is the Welshpool chick then all four made successful migrations to Africa, a quite remarkable happening.

Have you seen the montage created my Lin Lawson in another place?
Female on the Sanibel nest.

I've seen a few, TIGER. Lin is now nearly as confused as I am. The poor quality of the cam and different angles, lighting, etc, are all conspiring to make ID-ing virtually impossible.
LOWRY, thank you, I'll check out your sighting :-) ... ... ... Oh no I won't! I logged on far too late today, was very engaged in lots of activity at Starr Ranch and then crashed out :-(

Scylla, empty nest now sorry you missed the earlier visit.
Intruder wins the battle of the Sanibel nest (but the war is not over!)
As far as we can tell, this was a peaceful, if not intimate, male and female on the nest, when all hell let loose:
.
Battle extracted should be slo-mo when YouTube as finished with it:
Scylla thanks for the vids, hope things settle down there or it will be as bad as last year. Empty nest just now when I looked.
Two Osprey on the Sanibel nest just now.
Do you think it could be Ripply trying to get his nest back?
Female currently on nest at Sanibel. Male just left as I looked in but don't know which male but they looked reasonably chummy
