I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Thanks for the report/photos & video from Sanibel Scylla.

Male on the Sanibel nest.
He's still there:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
And still there :-)

This was the male's first visit to the nest today at about 0715hr local time. He sorta dealt with the paper and did various bits of nestorising, he's been back several times since - as have the crows!
IMAGICAT
He seems very on edge in your video, Scylla. I wonder where the female is?
More nestorising just after 0900hr - he's intent on spreading around the soft material.
What the nest was like when before he got started this season:
Empty nest now at Sanibel.
The female is now on the nest. Just looking around, as is her wont ;-)
