This is the new thread for posting reports of osprey sightings, whether on the internet, in the press or in real life.
For the benefit of any new or less frequent viewers, it might be helpful if the first person to refer to a regular online source of information, for example Faune-Aquitaine, provided a link and a brief explanation of what the site is about.
Let the migration season commence!

Good morning Alan and I had deleted my post but then it crossed my mind that this information is available to all as you say. I was a bit hasty I think, hadn't thought about it properly. Anyway glad to see ospreys still being sighted although their migration must be nearly complete now.

Dear Margobird,
I refer you to my reply to Alan re the availability of information. Your first instinct to delete the detailed location and speculation was reponsible and in the best interests of the birds. (which is what this is all about). No further thought required.

Dear Sue C,
Thanks for doing that, the decision to moderate the forum is a good one. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the posts as the birds arrive and hope that (with careful moderation) it continues to run in subsequent years.
Wel, after all that excitement, I'm going to pull the pin and go to bed. I'll be a bit later on than usual tomorrow morning. We have a scheduled power outage from midnight until 6.00 am tomorrow, so I'll be back on sometime after that. Good night all!
Smiles, Jan.
NOT a member : As a frequent visitor of the site you hinted at in your last post. I am well aware of the problem with the two birds indicated. As this is a well established site and these are known birds there is no way that publishing sightings of birds migrating could have contributed to this problem. I think attention needs to be turned on irresponsible farmers and landowners who are usually to blame for such losses. Everything I have published on here has come from Birdguides so I suggest you contact them if you want such information moderated.
18/04 11:14 LANCASHIRE : Osprey, Charnock Richard [S]one circling over M6 by Camelot theme park mid-morning
18/04 11:29 KENT : Osprey, Chamber's Wall [S]one flew over toward Reculver this morning
Thanks Alan for the new sightings.
I think not a new member is becoming a bit of a pain in the backside at the moment. I am sorry I deleted my post now. As you can see he replied to me after I had done it. I will not be swayed again.
If you have time Alan have a look at the live stream of the Brighton peregrines it is almost like being in the nest box with ehem, beautfully clear pics.
Margobird
Thanks Margobird for your support. It is not up to someone who is NOT a member to set up rules for the rest of us it is up to the moderators of this forum. Who does he think he is?
Thanks for the info on the Brighton peregrines. I will go and have a look now.

You are more than welcome Alan. You are a source of information and important member on this blog. I learn everyday fromi tems you post
Membership has nothing to do with the free expresson of responsible opinions.
I constructed careful arguments based on good reporting practice, not emotional outbursts. I have also praised the forum's posts during the arrival season. Your arguments have not been strengthened by hubris and sycophancy from others; this issue must be taken seriously. If you think even well guarded ospreys are safe, have alook at this link from the BBC last week:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/leicester/hi/people_and_places/nature/newsid_8618000/8618289.stm
I have passed my concern on to the RSPB Loch Garten Nature Reserve and the County Recorder for the area concerned; there is clearly no value in discussing serious issues about the welfare of endangered and persecuted species on this forum and I won't be bothering you all again.
I hope your actions don't cause any more birds to go missing.
