This is the new thread for posting reports of osprey sightings, whether on the internet, in the press or in real life.
For the benefit of any new or less frequent viewers, it might be helpful if the first person to refer to a regular online source of information, for example Faune-Aquitaine, provided a link and a brief explanation of what the site is about.
Let the migration season commence!

06/10 14:30 NORFOLK: Lyng.
06/10 DEVON: Dawlish Warren NNR.
06/10 16:25 LINCS: Messingham Sand Quarry.
07/10 09:45 HANTS: Lower Test Marshes HWT.
06/10 ARGYLL: Tiree.

Some more detail on the Tiree sighting:
07/10 14:24 ARGYLL : Osprey, Tiree [S]an exhausted bird at The Reef yesterday evening but no sign today; only the 3rd island record (06/10)
Thanks for that, Alan, it looks like it is still there today, reported at 20:21:
05/10 N YORKS: York.
07/10 15:00 LINCS: Messingham Sand Quarry.
07/10 ARGYLL: Tiree.
I don't feel Tiree is a good place for an exhausted osprey to be - it reminds me of the sad story of Logie and Talisman's chick Moray, in 2008:

Thanks Sandy and Alan for the opsrey sightings. I so hope that exhausted osprey is OK and will be able to migrate eventually. I just wonder is it unusual to still have osprey sightings at this time in October.
Margobird
Not really Margo, there's usually one or two hang on until November, or even December:
08/10 E YORKS: Spurn.
08/10 DORSET: Lytchett Bay.
07/10 N YORKS: Escrick.

Thanks Sandy I didn't realise but I am learning all the time about these fantastic birds.
