visited reserve on monday afternoon,23rd july and was lucky firstly with 3 other visitors to spot three cranes flying from near distant white bungalow over towards other side of river from joist fen viewpoint at around 3pm. Then half hour later a lone crane flew from near railway line into middle of reeds to right of post where cormorants sit.No bitterns heard or orioles but plenty of marsh harriers though..Will post pics of cranes later .
Great stuff! I was down slightly later on and saw the other family of cranes from Joist Fen viewpoint. Its great news that they are being seen more often than the last couple of weeks! Looking forward to seeing the pictures!
