Haven't seen one of these beauties since January, but on Sunday last weekend we were lucky enough to see this fantastic SEO come over the bank from the far end of the reserve and fly slowly past us to land on a tree stump. It sat there for a good 5 minutes - as you can see, the local magpies were less than happy about this and kept mobbing it. It then drifted off across the crop fields.
Always feel so privileged to see a sight like this.
Apologies for the quality of the shot.....
Excellent! Its great to hear that there is still one around. Don't forget, if you would like to enter this into our photography competition, please e-mail this over to us at lakenheath@rspb.org.uk; We hope to see you on the reserve again soon.
