visited for 2nd time today and was lucky enough to spot Great Grey Shrike again with guidence from one of your friendly guys.As we got closer along family trail to look at it we were treated to a Bittern flying out of the reeds in front of us.

I'm glad the G G Shrike is still there, i have not seen any recent reports saying it was still there, i hope to go very soon & try to see it, what a treat to see the Bittern like that

Driving back from Lynford Arboretum yesterday at around 4.30, my partner noticed what she was convinced was a GGS perched on one of the shrubs in a paddock by the end of the RAF Lakenheath runway. Although we were passing in the car, she said there was far too much grey on it to be a magpie and she knows how to id a GGS from having bought me a marvellous picture of one for Christmas! Could be the same bird? Though the country round there ought to be attractive enough to bring in more than one of the species, I guess.
Hello! It could well be the same bird as great grey shrikes do tend to cover a large area. Where you saw it was not very far away from the reserve as the shrike flies!
