What a lovely day I had! And made more special because of the extremely helpful and friendly volunteers and staff who shared knowledge so freely as I walked round (walked round twice!). I have never see so many warblers at such close quarters as I did between 6 and 9 am - great time to be there. It was worth getting up at 4am ... Only glimpses of bittern and bearded tits but what a super site to wander about and to be on the river bank with only the soughing of the wind in the poplars - fabulous. Shame about the golden oriole :(, never mind there's always next year.
