Hi,had a really good day at reserve today 20th april, arrive early 6.20 am and first spot was a Buzzard sitting beside entrance track only 6ft up in one of the smallest trees next to wooden owl.Followed by sightings of first cuckoo flying over new joist fen and landing on a bush toards railway gate.Here is a list of other sightings,Buzzard,sparrowhawk,jays,blue tits,reed warblers,rooks,crow,muncjak,roe deers,kingfisher,kestrel,water rail,moorhen,coots , one even with two v young chicks,crested grebe,marsh harriers,cranes x 2,green woodpecker,great spotted woodpecker,barn owl,swans, all sorts of geese,gladwall,tufted ducks,few lapwings,few pheasants,long tailed tit , wren and last but not least our pidgeons! stayed till 2.45pm. Oh as i got home checked my night trail camera which i left hidden nr new joist fen viewpoint and got 4 pics of a Bittern and one small video clip of it .
