Hello everyone

My wife and I visited Hesketh Out Marsh for the first time in January and was pleasantly surprised at the number of bird species present and so returned with my brother in law and his wife on the 11th Feb.

On this occasion, we had a wonderful view of a barn owl from the car park as it flew across the field hunting. As we drove  back towards Southport , about two mile down the road , we spotted another barn owl that nearly flew into the car. I'm sure it was not the same bird, unless it was turbo charged.

I always thought owls only hunted from dusk till dawn and this was mid afternoon, next time the camera and telephoto will not be left at home.

I'm afraid I also have to have a moan, the state of Dibs lane is a disgrace. Who is responsible for the maintenance of the lane ? I'm sure it will put visitors off from visiting more than once.
