Arriving for a visit to the Marsh last Wednesday (19th Oct) I was greeted with low-flying acrobatics from 3 House Martins!! Has anyone else noticed any migrants this late in the year?
That is getting pretty late! We did have some rather late swifts this year (nearly into October), but I must admit I've not been out as much as I'd like here (a conference, followed by a week in the Isles of Scilly was a distraction recently). It does appear with the brent geese, ducks on the reserve and winter thrushes I can see as I type that winter is very much upon us.
