Please post your notable sightings on this thread. Notable means notable to you - no matter how common! Not only is it nice to share, but we can use the information in our casual sightings records to help maintain a picture of species and numbers on the reserve.
I'll set the ball rolling:-

Hi Andy,
Thank you for the speedy reply and the encouragement. I didn't realise the starlings left Fen Drayton so early - in fact I w in Somerset last week and saw a pretty impressive murmur action over the Avalon marshes.
There seem to be many other sights at Fen Drayton so I will definitely visit soon.
Thanks again,
Brian

Goosander duck and drake on NW quadrant of Drayton Lagoon at 1500 today.
Saturday 26th Jan
Drake Scaup on Ferry Lagoon. Take care, as there's also a hybrid duck on the same lake that also looks like a Scaup but has the wrong head shape & colour and is too small.
Slavonian grebe & adult yellow-legged gull also on Ferry Lagoon.
Also a white nun & two weasel coots on Far Fen Lake (see Alison's post to find out what species this is).
In total, I saw 61 species on the reserve today.
It would appear the scaup & the hybrid are one & the same bird! My mistake!
