Chelburn reservoir Littleborough

Just outside Littleborough is a place called Summit. at the top of the summit is Chelburn res. I have now named this my ' mini Dove stone'.  it is well worth a visit, somedays it can be windy & barren, but it is usually well worth it.

Today I saw:

little owl, wheater, reed bunting, little ringed plover, lapwing, tufted duck, linnet, stonechat, green woodpecker &  grey wagtail.

Other birds I have seen at this site over the years have been:

Buzzard, little stint, peregrine, curlew, goosander, goldeneye, red breasted merganser, litttle grebe, merlin, sparrowhawk, kestrel, pheasant, grey & red legged partridge, skylark, common sandpiper, oystercatcher, ringed plover, peregrine, raven, dipper, ring ousel.  there are more but these are the ones that I can recap off the top of my head.

Just thought I would share this with you. If anyone fancies a visit to the place, let me know.
