Still cant get near to Rachel D's list at Binn Green. 30 minutes today during heavy sleet, hail and snow showers produced the following list. - BLUE TIT, GREAT TIT, LONG TAILED TIT, COAL TIT, SISKIN (Male and female), G.S.WOODPECKER (male and female),CHAFFINCH, GOLDFINCH, GREENFINCH, BRAMBLING (4- 3male 1 female),ROBIN,DUNNOCK,BLACKBIRD,MAGPIE, JAY (heard).A list 14 in all . Down at the sluice Yeoman Hey, 1 DIPPER. Down at Dove stone I met up with MANDY and CHRIS,RSPB Staff, who were very helpfull with advice and allowed me to share their scope to have a look at the Mountain hare and Fieldfare .Thanks very much to both of you. Its always nice to put a name to face. Back to the bird list. Another DIPPER in Chew Brook, 3 JAY undeer the Beech trees opposite the sailing club, Blue and GT TITS in the small plantations. FIELDFARE and REDWING in the fields below the farm. Not a bad list considering the weather.
  • Great to meet you David! Nice to put a face to the name. Saw the Fieldfare again today, first when flock flew over Chew Brook (and heard Redwing there too).

    See you out and about!
