  • I'm not sure regarding times but I think they are the first to leave the breeding grounds so I would have thought that the time is around now, someone on here with better knowledge will be able yo give you a better answer.

Springwatch this week has reports from the Puffin colony on Skomer (West Wales) I would have thought to get good views of the birds they must have timed it to coincide with the feeding adults.

  • Now's a great time to visit the reserve and see our puffins. Every day we are seeing them from all five viewpoints, as well as flying past, bobbing about on the sea or just chilling on the cliffs.

They've been seen flying in with sand eels, as well.

When you're here, take time out to get acquainted with all the chicks there are on the cliffs - gannets, guillemots and razorbills and, the cutest of the cute, the kittiwakes, which one of our staff described as looking like cuddly pom-poms.

If grandad needs help getting down to the viewpoints, plese let our staff know. If a wheelchair would help, you can hire one from the visitor centre. Give them a call beforehand and they will book it out for you. 01262 851179.

Hope you have a lovely time, Please ket us know about your visit.

is there disabled parking near at hand i remember the site being very busy last year when we came.

  • just returned from bempton cliffs amy was excited to see the puffins flying in and out got good views of them and some good views of them on the cliffs thanks to some of the friendly people with telescopes who let us look through them. our trip was cut short by the cold wind and rain that arrived after lunch but not before we enjoyed the gannets among others up close riding the wind near the cliff edges ,was well worth the 4 hour round trip

  • Hi there,

Did you come to Bempton at the weekend? Hope you had a lovely time, if you did. Please let us have any feedback so we can help you in the future.
