I never ever, could see myself getting this excited about one sparrow. I mean I have a whole flock of house sparrows. Its the first I've seen in this garden. I very nearly dropped camera, that would of cost, phew!
I will not sleep tonight wondering if he will return tomorrow!
Fingers crossed
John
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
I second that, they are really good.

I did comment John that it would be unusual to see a lone tree sparrow. Latest score you were up to five. I would say that now they have found you, there will be plenty more. As always, great photography.
Really really lovely - superb shots. Hope they keep on coming so you can keep up taking photos for us all to see - excellent

Thank you all for the kind words.
I will try my best to keep things up to date, I just got my november copy of Birds and in the Catalogue I saw a christmas card with FIVE tree sparrows (page 7) thats the target if they stay around. ;-)
John, if you don'y already, you could produce your own cards.
( but don't use the photographs of the robins fighting. Could change the spirit of Christmas somewhat !)

I hope I get my copy, I don't believe I've had one for a while now...

Thanks for kind words Brenda H, I don't do anything more than collect and this as yet, maybe one day.
Just to up date the current count is around seven hard to keep track as they are in and out of the bushes in my garden, Quite jumpy at the moment!
Sparrow hawk a constant threat!
Thanks for your update John. ( sorry enquiry was on wrong page) So glad tree sparrows are still around and are sensible enough to keep out of the sparrow hawks view. I love to watch them when they feel safe and free.
